2021 in Review

How did child care providers fare last year? Take a look at our year-end findings, data highlights, and supply and demand trends we observed from providers nationwide.

Though 2021 was an incredibly challenging year for providers and families, there was also much to celebrate. Providers continued to show resilience, connecting with families quickly and filling open seats. Families joined waitlists in higher numbers than the previous year, bringing in an additional revenue stream for providers and assuring them that their waitlists are filled with families actively seeking care.

Our partners worked tirelessly to support, coach, and train providers in their communities, and ensure that families found the care they needed. We are grateful for our partners' ongoing efforts to strengthen the child care system and use real-time data to effect sustainable change.
